🔒 Runs 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded
About the PDF compressor
Shrink a large PDF so it is small enough to email or upload, without installing anything or signing up. It works best on scanned documents and image-heavy files: each page is re-rendered and saved as an optimised image, often cutting the size by half or more. Choose a stronger level for the smallest file, or a lighter one to keep more detail. Everything happens in your browser's canvas, so your document is never uploaded — ideal for contracts, IDs and other private files.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is compressed entirely in your browser — it never leaves your device. Even confidential documents like contracts or bank statements stay completely private.
How does the compression work?
Each page is re-rendered at a sensible resolution and saved as an optimised JPEG inside a new PDF. This is very effective on scanned documents and image-heavy files. Pick a stronger level for a smaller file, or a lighter one to keep more detail.
Will the text still be selectable?
No. Because pages are rasterised to images, selectable/searchable text becomes part of the picture. If you need to keep text selectable, use the original file. For emailing or uploading scans, this is exactly what you want.
What if it cannot make my file smaller?
Some PDFs are already optimised. If compression would not actually shrink the file, the tool keeps your original so you never end up with a bigger one.
