Remove Image Metadata (EXIF)
Remove hidden EXIF metadata — including the GPS location where a photo was taken, the date and your camera model — from JPG and PNG images. The pixels stay untouched and your photo is never uploaded.
🔒 Runs 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded
About the metadata remover
Photos taken on a phone usually carry hidden EXIF data — most importantly the exact GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken, along with the date, time and your device model. Sharing a photo without cleaning it can quietly reveal your home address or daily routine. This tool strips that metadata out so you can post or send images safely. The pixels are left untouched, and because everything runs in your browser, your photo is never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The metadata is read and stripped entirely in your browser — the image never leaves your device. That is the whole point: you should not have to upload a private photo to a stranger’s server just to clean it.
What information does this remove?
EXIF data such as GPS location, the date and time, and your camera or phone model, plus XMP, IPTC and embedded comments. Photos from phones very often contain the exact GPS coordinates where they were taken.
Does it reduce the image quality?
No. The pixels are left completely untouched — only the hidden metadata is cut out, so the image looks identical and is usually a little smaller.
Which files are supported?
JPG and PNG images. These are by far the most common formats that carry location and camera metadata.
